![]() Asking for automatic lip sync is me just being lazy. Re-playing the same section of video 500 times in order to figure out where the syllables are is time-consuming. The only animation feature that I feel it really ought to have is audio scrubbing. So far, I'm finding that CSP has a sufficient balance of animation features + stability vs. CSP was only $72 for a year, which, after suffereing with those free programs, I was finally ready to part with for the sake of sanity. And yes, there are better animation-centric paid solutions out there but they can be crazy expensive. ![]() Also, CSP's drawing features are at another level compared to those other programs because they simply don't focus on drawing. I just got fed up with those free programs crashing so frequently or exhibiting other annoying behaviors. However, those other programs naturally have more animation-centric features. OpenToonz, Pencil2D, Synfig, etc.), CSP's animation features are far more stable and in many cases perform better. In a nutshell, in order for this to work, the feature would need to be more integrated with CSP itself.Ĭompared with the free animation solutions out there (e.g. Importing another xdts file once you've done it already replaces any previous mouth cel placement. However, if you have multiple timelines or if you'd like to use your mouth cels in more than one place, this gets very messy. This method does work for a very simple cartoon with a very clean and simple timeline. I've tried this method and even wrote a script to convert Papgayo's *.dat files to the *.xdts files which CSP recognizes. There is a video which shows how to use Papagayo and CSP together. This tool examines a speech audio clip to detect phonemes and then chooses from a predefined list of cels which have the various mouth shapes. For example, OpenToonz supports a third party tool called rhubarb-lip-sync. I work on simpler cartoons which tend to be dialog-heavy. Having built-in support for automatic lip synchronization would be a huge time saver. I've already submitted a feature suggestion to the CSP folks regarding automatic lip syncronization in CSP. Currently, I'm doing lip syncronization frame-by-frame. I would really like to know if anybody has any tips or tricks for doing lip syncronization in CSP automatically, or at least make my workflow faster.
